Mission

The mission of HSI Grant Services as part of a Hispanic Serving Institution is committed to providing services and resources for students and institutional success.

ASCENDER

The Ascender project's purpose is to increase first-year retention and provide financial literacy. As well as strengthen institutional management through increased professional learning and development that will realign pedagogies and practices to regional hiring, and cultural needs, and connect Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students with high-impact advising, academic, and career experiences within the first year of their college experience.

CENTRO STEM

The component of STEM Centro is to help student success and completion of STEM degree programs by integrating Student Support Systems, STEM Transfer and Career Advising, Exploration and Internship, Math Boot Camp, Peer Led Team Learning and Coaching, Professional Development for Staff and Faculty and outreach events for the community.

CONEXIONES

The Title V Conexiones Grant is designed to foster student success and institutional transformation by addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of Hispanic and low-income students. This initiative focuses on creating an inclusive and supportive environment, strengthening institutional capacity, and enhancing student outcomes through intentional programming, professional development, and strategic use of data to inform practices.

ESL Voices

ESL Voices is a free program designed for middle school and high school students to learn and improve their English proficiency. The program focuses on enhancing skills in conversation, writing, listening, and reading. Classes are held at the Carlsbad Public Library from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday mornings.

Unlocking Pathways

Unlocking Pathways is a free program designed to assist with the evaluation of foreign academic credentials. The HSI Grant Services provides guidance and advice on the process of validating studies completed in foreign countries.
