First Year Experience

OUR MISSION:

The First Year Experience (FYE) Office is dedicated to guiding first-year students through their transition to college life. Our mission is to offer a range of resources and support systems designed to ensure a smooth and successful start at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Through engaging FYE activities, financial wellness workshops, and various events, we aim to help students build strong, supportive connections and thrive in their new academic environment.

WHAT WE DO:

At the First Year Experience Office, we are committed to helping students fully embrace the opportunities available at Â鶹ÊÓƵ while fostering a sense of belonging and community. Our goal is to provide comprehensive support that contributes to academic achievement and personal growth. By participating in FYE, students can expect to:

  • Build Connections: Establish meaningful relationships with classmates and become integrated into the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community. Our programs and activities are designed to help students create a network of peers, faculty, and staff, which can significantly enhance their college experience.
  • Enhance Financial Wellness: Attend our Financial Wellness Workshops, tailored to equip students and their families with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions and manage resources effectively. These workshops aim to promote long-term financial health and stability.
  • Develop Knowledge and Skills: Acquire essential tools and skills that support both intellectual and personal development. Our workshops and events provide valuable insights that extend beyond the classroom, aiding in overall academic and personal growth.
  • Promote Well-being: Participate in a variety of events and workshops focused on general well-being. These activities are designed to teach strategies for maintaining a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal life.
  • Utilize Resources: Access and leverage both school and community resources to meet academic, personal, and social goals. Our office provides guidance on how to effectively use available resources to support students’ overall success.

By engaging with the First Year Experience Office, students will lay a strong foundation for their college career, setting the stage for continued success throughout their time at Â鶹ÊÓƵ and beyond.
